Guttenberg, Iowa – Lorrie Meier, CEO, is pleased to announce that G & G Living Centers, Inc. has been awarded another four year CQL Person-Centered Excellence Accreditation from CQL | The Council on Quality and Leadership. This award confirms that the organization shares CQL’s vision for person-centered solutions to improve the quality of life for people receiving supports and services.
G & G Living Centers, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1992 that provides services and supports for individuals with intellectual disabilities. It is headquartered in Guttenberg, IA and also provides residential and employment services in the communities of Garnavillo, Edgewood, and Elkader, IA.
G & G has been accredited by The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) since 1998. On September 22-25th, 2015, the agency engaged with CQL in their most recent Person Centered Excellence accreditation process.
“Partnering with CQL has enabled us to continually be ahead of the game when it comes to providing quality services and supports, as well as meeting state and federal requirements. CQL’s values continue to guide our mission, vision, values, strategic planning, and therefore, our service delivery,” states Lorrie Meier, CEO.
When G & G Living Centers, Inc. partnered with CQL to pursue accreditation back in 1996, it undertook a rigorous process to review and improve services and supports. G & G’s efforts were focused on empowering the people who receive support from their organization to make choices in how they live their lives … where they work, where they live, how they create a community.
G & G has been awarded CQL accreditation as a result of demonstrating proficiency in the following areas:
- Basic Assurances ( ensuring fundamental safeguards related to health, safety and human security)
- Personal Outcome Measures® (supporting and empowering people to achieve their goals and dreams)
- Person-centered Excellence (demonstrating organizational commitment to continued enhancement of systems directly related to person-centered services)

G & G Living Centers, Inc. Receives Upper Mississippi Gaming Corporation Grant
G & G Living Centers, Inc. has received a grant from Upper Mississipp Gaming Corportation (UMGC) in the amount of $4,200 in the fall of 2011. The grant money will be used to help fund TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication-related handicapped CHildren) training. Click here to read the full press release.

G & G Living Centers has received a grant from Dubuque Racing Associaton (DRA) in the amount of $6,800 in the spring of 2012. The grant money will be used to purchase 12 touchscreen communication devices. These handheld, mobile tablets assist G & G in communicating with our consumers.
